Ministries

Pulpit Ministry

This is our first and most important ministry. We preach the old truths of the Bible, line upon line and precept upon precept. I Cor. 1:18 "For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God unto salvation."

Music Ministry

We sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs of the faith in all our services. Psalm 40:3 "He hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord."

Special Events

Throughout the year we host many special events to encourage believers to have a closer walk with the Lord and a sweet fellowship with other believers.

Sunday School Ministry

Our teachers are well trained and well-prepared to teach the lessons of God's Word in a simple and concise manner. Matt. 28:20 "Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you..."

Nursery Ministry

Our nursery volunteers have received state clearances and are familiar with infant CPR and first aid. Matt. 18:5 "And whoso shall receive on such little child in my name receiveth me."

Outreach Ministry
  1. World Missions - We believe God has given the local church the great commission to preach the Gospel to all nations (Matthew 28:19-20; Mark 16:15). At Susquehanna Valley Baptist Church we strive to use every Biblical means to reach our community and around the world.
  2. Weekly Visitation and Canvasing - SVBC makes a serious effort to take the Gospel to people in their homes. We carefully canvas our community street by street, and house by house searching for people who are willing to accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.
  3. New Comers Class - Going to a new church can sometimes be scary and confusing. Not all churches are the same so we offer a new comers class for those who want to learn more about SVBC and how we do things at our church.
  4. Spring/Fall Surveying - We conduct a community survey two times a year to learn more about the people in the community surrounding SVBC. By doing this it allows our church to more effectively reach our neighbors.
  5. Hospital Visitation - Many times those who are in the Hospital no mater how big or small the reason is need someone to come and encourage them. We take time to visit those who are in the Hospital.
