Rejoicing In The Word For Ladies – Generations – Part 3 (August 2025)

“Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations. Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.” (Psa. 90:1-2)

Today we share some final thoughts on God’s Word to the generations. Please see Parts 1 & 2 of this series in previous month’s blog posts for more of this list.

• God’s truth is for all generations.

“Be ye mindful always of his covenant; the word which he commanded to a thousand generations” 1 Chron. 16:15.

We do not live in a generation that is beyond the saving hand of God and His Word. The Bible still applies today. His church is still for today. He still calls us to be a witness today. “For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations” Psa. 100:5.

• God raises up a righteous remnant in every generation.

“There were they in great fear: for God is in the generation of the righteous” Psa. 14:5.

“And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation” Luke 1:50.

This reminds me of the servants of God who were hidden and sheltered in a cave during the reign of the wicked King Ahab and his Queen Jezebel. Even in dark ages, the light still shines.

• We can leave a testimony for the next generation.

“Now also when I am old and grayheaded, O God, forsake me not; until I have shewed thy strength unto this generation, and thy power to every one that is to come” Psa. 71:18.

“We will not hide them from their children, shewing to the generation to come the praises of the Lord, and his strength, and his wonderful works that he hath done” Psa. 78:4.

“One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts” Psa. 145:4.

“Tell ye your children of it, and let your children tell their children, and their children another generation” Joel 1:3.

• Each generation owes praise to the God of heaven.

“So we thy people and sheep of thy pasture will give thee thanks for ever: we will shew forth thy praise to all generations” Psa. 79:13.

“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:” 1 Pet. 2:9.
